C.S. Osborne No. 402 Upholstery Ripping Chisel

When to choose it
Use the No. 402 when removing old upholstery calls for a chisel edge. Its forged steel blade is half an inch wide and 3⅝ inches long. Check those measurements against the edge of the fabric or fastening line you need to reach, particularly near trim you want to preserve.
Osborne also sells the 402½, which combines a ripping tool with a tack puller. Choose between the plain chisel edge and the combination profile based on the old attachment you can see. A forked staple lifter gives you a different approach when you need to start individual staples.
